Kroffat Brake & Wheel Charity Partner Program

Kroffat Brake & Wheel is committed to supporting our local community through our Annual Charity Partner Program which aims to move over $20 000 back into the Cowichan Valley. Every year we partner with various local, charitable organizations and donate 2% from each automotive repair bill to the charities listed below. Together, we can make a difference in our community!

Current Charity Partners

Cowichan Hospice is a registered charity providing person-centered support through the journey to end-of-life, and through grief leading up to and following a death. Services provided by staff and trained volunteers include: one-to-one companioning, group support and wellness sessions. Cowichan Hospice also offers educational and community events including Advance Care Planning workshops. These free and confidential services are available to all in the Cowichan region.


Social Planning Cowichan (SPC) is a registered charity founded in 2004. Their goal is to provide leadership that brings the community together to create a sustainable quality of life for everyone in the Cowichan Region. SPC identifies community priorities for action, tracks the health and well-being of our community and measures social foundations of health including; economy, employment, education, health services, culture, youth, transportation, community involvement, food security, housing, climate change and environment.  SPC also hosts the Cultural Connections Program and the Quw'utsun' Elders' work including the Reconciliation: Journey of our Generation workshops and the Xpey' - Cedar Restoration and Protection project.   


Cowichan Valley Youth Services (CVYS) is a non-profit agency that has been supporting youth and families since 1973, through a variety of free, affirming and inclusive mental health services.  They provide counselling, groups, outreach and support services for youth ages 13-18 and their families. CVYS provides services to over 600 individuals and their families every year. Their goal is to give clients a safe environment, where they can discover their strengths and learn to make healthy choices. No referral is necessary, all our services are free and confidential.

Clements Centre for Families supports more than 1000 children, youth, and adults with developmental needs and their families by offering programs and services that promote participation and engagement. Programs are provided through two branches of service: Adult Community Living, which provides residential services, Home Sharing, Outreach, Inclusion programs and Supported Employment, and Sundrops Centre for Child Development, which provides early intervention services, supported child development, after-school care, and childcare resource and referral. Programs are funded by Community Living BC, the Ministry of Children & Families and, of course, through community support!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley is an independent regional branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada. BBBSCV matches youth facing adversity with volunteer mentors – fostering consistent, supportive and enriching developmental relationships that help them reach their full potential. The organization has served the Cowichan region since 1972, igniting the power and potential of young people and positively influencing multiple social determinants of health in the community.

Charity Partners 2022/23


Volunteer Cowichan is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of the power of service and encourages people to volunteer. They assist initiatives, projects, and organizations to meet community needs and interests. Their services help to relieve conditions associated with aging by providing housekeeping, shopping assistance, and more to individuals affected by these conditions. Current programs include: Better at Home, Social Prescribing, Youth 20/20 Can Cowichan, and New Horizons Cowichan.

Cowichan Women Against Violence Society works from a feminist perspective to provide a supportive environment primarily to women and children who have been affected by abuse. They support diversity, change, choice and growth through counselling, advocacy, emergency shelter, community development and education.

The Cowichan Valley Basket Society is committed to providing sustenance to any individual or family in-need within the Cowichan Valley. They are run by a volunteer Board of Directors and are always looking for donations of goods or services!

Cowichan Green Community

The Cowichan Green Community is a non-profit organization that has been focusing on environmental sustainability in the Cowichan Region for 15 years. They aim to improve food security by developing strong relationships with local food producers, increasing capacity for local food production (both urban and rural), and empowering people with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to feed their community.

The Cowichan Green Community’s reFRESH Cowichan Marketplace is an inclusive grocery store offering recovered fruit and vegetables, value-added products, and locally made goods. The reFRESH Coupon Program provides 100 families and seniors with weekly coupons to shop for free at the Marketplace.

The Cowichan Family Caregivers Support Society is dedicated to improving the quality of life of caregivers.  Their mission to acknowledge, appreciate and support people in their caregiving role: to alleviate stress, to improve quality of life, and to raise awareness of caregiving through education and advocacy for all caregivers.

The Cowichan Valley branch of CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness and addiction within our community. They offer a wide variety of programs, services and shelter for adult and teen community members throughout the Cowichan Valley.

Cowichan Sportsplex

The Cowichan Sportsplex has a way of inspiring people of all ages and abilities to “give it their all” no matter if they are walking, running, working out, playing their sport, walking their dog or flying a kite. It’s safe, it’s beautiful, and it’s fun. The Cowichan Sportsplex actively inspires a healthy community every day.
